Subscription conditions

1. General
In signing the subscription agreement the subscriber undertakes to adhere to the following provisions pertaining to subscriptions (season tickets, multiple-admission packages) offered by the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Verbal subsidiary arrangements are not valid.

2. Performances covered
Subscriptions relate to series of performances as detailed in the publications of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions cannot be used to obtain seats for external or 'one-off' events, performances by the Staatsballett Berlin or specially priced events. A subscription entitles the holder only to a single seat at any of the performances attended.

3. Subscription agreement
The Deutsche Oper Berlin rents seats to interested parties, who, by signing the agreement, enter into a legal contract and become subscribers. The subscriber rents the seat(s) for the duration of the season and is liable to the Deutsche Oper Berlin for the full price of the subscription covering the performances relating to that subscription. There are no reimbursements for performances not attended.

Before tickets for the next season go on general sale each subscriber will be sent information on subscription renewals and prices.

4. Seats
Seats are allocated in the order in which reservations are received. Staff will do their best to accommodate subscribers' wishes regarding seat position.

5. Subscription prices / method of payment
Subscriptions are issued for the relevant series, seat categories and prices, as set out in the respective price lists. The subscription covers the entire season and must be paid for in full and in advance, by bank transfer or similar. Cash is not accepted.

6. Programme alterations
In cases where, due to unforeseeable circumstances, the Deutsche Oper Berlin is unable to honour a particular date covered by the subscription as a result of a change of programme or the cancellation of a performance, the Opera reserves the right to specify a replacement date. Where the staging of a production or any other technical/organisational imperative prevents subscribers from occupying their rightful seats, tickets for replacement seats will be issued.

7. Exchanging tickets
In the case of bespoke (customised, free-choice) subscriptions, a subscriber is entitled to reschedule two attendances per series per season. Unless otherwise stated, attendances may be rescheduled only within a particular series. The relevant subscription card must be presented to the Subscription Office at least three working days prior to the earliest of the affected dates. Exchange options for subscriptions with set dates are as follows:
- Premiere subscription: a maximum of one exchange within series P and NP.
- RING subscription: exchanges between cycles is not possible.
- Chamber concert subscription: no exchange possible.
- All other subscriptions: a maximum of one exchange within the limitations of the relevant subscription.

8. Recruitment bonus
A subscriber who, through his/her direct agency, generates a new subscriber for the Opera, will receive a reward as set out [here]. The reward system does not apply to persons buying additional subscriptions for themselves, nor may the new subscriber reside at the address of the mediating subscriber.

9. Additional tickets
Subscribers wishing to purchase tickets not covered by their own subscription may apply through the normal channels. Tickets are subject to availability. Subscribers pay a reduced price; conditions apply.

10. Transferability
The resale of subscription cards to third parties is prohibited.

11. Place of performance
Place of performance for all obligations specified in this agreement is Berlin-Charlottenburg/ Wilmersdorf.
