About the performance

For the musicians of the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, their series of chamber-music sessions is a wish come true. Taking their inspiration from key operas on the programme, they put together concert programmes linked to works that they hold particularly dearly. They are assisted in the project not only by singers from the ensemble but also by guests from outside.

Isabella Leonarda (1620 – 1704)
Sonata Duodecima

Clara Schumann (1819 – 1896) / Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809 – 1847)
Selected songs

Rebecca Clarke (1886 – 1979)
Prelude, Allegro and Pastorale for viola and clarinet

Lili Boulanger (1893 – 1918)
„D’un matin de printemps“ for piano trio
Nocturne for violoncello and piano

Amy Beach (1867–1944)
Quartet for strings

Sofia Gubaidulina (*1931)
Trio for trumpets

Grażyna Bacewicz (1909 - 1969)
Wind quintet
