About the performance

For the musicians of the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, their series of chamber-music sessions is a wish come true. Taking their inspiration from key operas on the programme, they put together concert programmes linked to works that they hold particularly dearly. They are assisted in the project not only by singers from the ensemble but also by guests from outside. The concerts take place against the backdrop of sets being used in whatever Tischlerei production is being mounted at the time - which regularly necessitates new and unconventional spatial solutions.

Johannes Brahms (1833 – 1897)
String sextet G major, op. 36

Bertrand Roussel (1869 – 1937)
Duo for bassoon and double bass, L.35

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 – 1827)
Sextet E flat major for two horns and string quartet, op. 81b

Franz Schubert (1797 – 1828)
Octet for clarinet, horn, bassoon and strings, D 803
1. Adagio – Allegro

as well as songs for soprano and harp
Gabriel Fauré (1845 – 1924)
„Les roses d'Ispahan

Claude Debussy (1862 – 1918)
„Les cloches“
„Nuit d´étoiles“

Franz Schubert (1797 – 1828)
„Nachtviolen“
„An die Musik“
