Die junge amerikanische Mezzosopranistin Ronnita Miller begann die Saison 2012/2013 als Mary / DER FLIEGENDE HÖLLANDER und als Tisbe / LA CENERENTOLA an der Los Angeles Opera. Weitere Engagements führten sie zum Ravinia Festival als 3. Dame / DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE mit dem Chicago Symphony Orchestra und James Conlon, als Fillippevna / EUGEN ONEGIN, Gertrude / ROMÉO ET JULIETTE und als Florence Pike / ALBERT HERRING an die Los Angeles Opera. Sie interpretierte Erda und 1. Norn an der San Francisco Opera in der Neuproduktion des RING, dirigiert von Donald Runnicles.
Ab der Saison 2013/2014 wird Ronnita Miller Ensemblemitglied an der Deutschen Oper Berlin.
Geboren in Florida, studierte Ronnita Miller an der Manhattan School of Music und der Juilliard Opera School, bevor sie für zwei Jahre Mitglied im Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program der Los Angeles Opera war. Sie debütierte dort als La Badessa / SUOR ANGELICA 2008. Außerdem sang sie in Achim Freyers DER RING DES NIBELUNGEN die Partien der Schwertleite und Flosshilde sowie Berta / IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA und Marcellina / LE NOZZE DI FIGARO. An der Juilliard sang sie u. a. Háta / THE BARTERED BRIDE, Maman / L’ENFANT ET LES SORTILÈGES, Hippolyta / A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM und Dido / DIDO AND AENEAS; als Mitglied des San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program 2005 Tisbe und die alte Priorin / DIALOGE DER KARMELITERINNEN.
Ronnita Miller ist Preisträgerin verschiedener Awards, Stipendien und Preise, darunter der Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara und des renommierten „Marilyn Horne Song Competition“.
Auf dem Konzertpodium interpretierte sie bislang Mozarts „Requiem“ mit dem New York Symphonic Ensemble und Beethovens Neunte Sinfonie in der Carnegie Hall mit dem Orchestra of St. Luke’s.Productions
